Case Study: Inner Balance Medicine

Amanda and Connie are the owners of Inner Balance Medicine, an acupuncture and integrative wellness center located in Central California.

Inner Balance Medicine was established in 2014 and has been treating patients ever since. In 2019, they were ready to update their visual brand and website. It was important to hold onto the tradition of their original logo, to update and still keep the Zen Circle symbol.

Their website already had some of the most important elements, including calls to action, contact information, booking information, etc. The main goals were to freshen up and modernize their look, with the brand and website. Although the medicine and modalities they practice are ancient, Inner Balance Medicine integrates modern advancements to best treat each individual. They wanted to convey this with a clean, modern, approachable new look.

“I knew we needed to upgrade our website in order to show the world what our growing business is all about and where we’re going. We needed a polished, customized site rather than a cheap-looking DIY template. We wanted our site to look professional, inviting, and appropriate to our business. Samantha got to know us and built the perfect website.”

The Branding Process

Before starting on any visuals for Inner Balance Medicine, I went through a strategic process with Amanda and Connie. In order to create visuals that felt aligned with their mission and brand vision, it was important to learn about how they want their patients to experience their brand.

By going through this process together, Connie and Amanda were able to not only update their brand and website but also have moved into a new office and completely update their space based on the moodboard and new branding. Months after the move, Amanda reached out to tell me,

“your process helped us so much! I can’t even begin to tell you how much we changed with our business as a result of your branding process.”

This is one of my favorite effects of branding. By taking the time to clarify their brand strategy, they were able to make updates in other areas of business. And by establishing a strong visual brand, they’ve been able to carry those visuals through to other areas as well.
